Daimler China R&D Technology Center launched in BDA

Updated: 2021-08-12

Daimler opened its new China Research and Development Technology Center in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) at the beginning of August, to help strengthen its research and development layout in China and further enhance its local innovation capabilities.

The Research and Development Technology Center has a total construction area of 55,000 square meters, with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan ($169.84 million), and a total capacity of about 1,000 personnel. It will become the core driving force for Daimler's research and development in China.

Daimler China Research and Development Technology Center adopts the concept of an integrated park. It is equipped with comprehensive vehicle and component testing facilities that allow a strong international research and development team to give full play to its strength and expertise.

Near the office building, the test building is equipped with advanced testing facilities, large-scale workshops and specialized parts areas.

This is the first time that Daimler has integrated its research and development capabilities across various fields, such as research, engineering development, simulations and road testing, in one place in China.

The design of the technology center has focused on the development trends of industries such as electrification and digitalization, making this office building a benchmark in terms of architectural design concepts.

The ultra-modern workstations, open communication areas, yoga rooms, restaurants and split-level open spaces meet the highest expectations of employees looking for a modern working environment.
