The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA) awarded 26 enterprises the honorary title of "Pioneer Port for Scientific and Technological Research" on June 29.

Enterprises in the Pioneer Ports will take the lead in promoting key core technologies.

The "Pioneer Port for Scientific and Technological Research" application was officially launched on June 17.

The application enterprises must conform to the industrial development direction of the BDA and have a grassroots Party organization.

Meanwhile, qualified companies are currently playing an important role and performing outstandingly in major strategic tasks or projects at national or city level.

During the pre-application process, technology firms in the area put their names forward.

After that, representatives of 10 Pioneer Port enterprises participated in the on-site award ceremony and received the honorary plaque of "Pioneer Port for Scientific and Technological Research".

On the same day, the person in charge of the Jingdong Group enterprise launched the "Led by Party, Strive for Innovation" initiative, advocating that the BDA's technology enterprises and scientific workers insist on innovation and collaboration, openness and sharing, and make unremitting efforts to achieve high-level technological self-reliance.

"The BDA has many scientific and technological enterprises with strong independent research and development capabilities," said the relevant person in charge of the BDA.

"Next, we will further enhance the technological innovation capabilities of the BDA, improve the technological innovation ecosystem, and achieve innovation leapfrogging, to make contributions towards building the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center", he added.
